Al-Nassr are seemingly set to pull off the audacious move by signing FC Porto Winger Otavio.
The Brazilian winger looks set to complete the move to the Saudi side as it comes after the side, spearheaded by Cristiano Ronaldo, have suffered back-to-back defeats.
The Saudi side only suffered three defeats all of last season but have already suffered two defeats this season. The 2-1 defeat to Al-Ettifaq and the 2-0 defeat Al-Taawoun has forced Al-Nassr’s decisionmakers into acting.
According to Fabrizio Romano, the Saudi side have triggered the release clause in the Brazilian’s contract, which is believed to be €60 million (£51 million) and the winger is now set to join the Saudi giants.
A verbal agreement has been reached according to Romano, although that is expected considering the Saudi side triggered the release clause in his contract.
Record sale
The deal to take the Brazilian winger to the Saudi side is a record sale for the Portuguese giants.
The deal will not be paid in one lump sum to the Portuguese side but in different installments which will make it more affordable but Porto will receive the sum eventually.
All that is left now are for the documents to be checked before the 28-year-old will fly out to the Middle East to complete his medical and sign the contract with the Saudi side.
Since Ronaldo ditched European football for Saudi Arabia back in January, clubs in the Saudi Professional League have been spending big to add to their squad and it seems Al-Nassr are about to spend big on another top European talent.
Al Nassr’s big rivals, Al Hilal have signed the likes of Ruben Neves, Neymar and Kalidou Koulibaly.
Al-Nassr, themselves, have brought in Sadio Mane and will now add the Brazilian winger to their ranks with the hope they can arrest the poor form.
