Cristiano Ronaldo scored the winning penalty for Al-Nassr last night as they reached the King Salman Clubs Cup final for the first time in their history.

The penalty, which was scored in the 75th minute by the Portuguese superstar, was enough to set up a final against Saudi rivals Al-Hilal.

Al-Nassr would have to be considered favourites for that encounter with Ronaldo, Sadio Mane, and Anderson Talisca in their team. For Al-Hilal it has been a frustrating time of things lately as Jorge Jesus’ side still struggles to get a world-class player through the door at the Saudi side.

They have been linked with Kylian Mbappe, Victor Osimhen, Jonathan David, and Joao Felix but it seems like none of these players mentioned will be heading to Saudi Arabia this summer.

For Al-Nassr, they will be hoping that this year will be the year that they can wrestle the Saudi Pro League title away from the grip of Al-Ittihad and wins like yesterday will be a good start in that endeavour.

Ronaldo’s reaction to the winning moment

It’s no secret that the Portuguese forward, formerly of Sporting Lisbon, Manchester United x2, Real Madrid and Juventus, is a scorer of important goals.

Time and time again the forward has popped up with a match-winning moment which is why he is arguably one of the greatest players to ever play the game.

Well, last night was no different and the forward has reacted on his Twitter to the moment that sent the Saudi side into the cup final.

“Final – here we go!! Good work team,” the 37-year-old wrote on his Twitter. “Special thanks to our fans for the amazing support and for always pushing us forward.”

The Portuguese forward will now be preparing for a crunch final in the competition and you wouldn’t bet against Ronaldo being the difference once again.
