Al-Nassr had previously been interested in making a move for Barcelona defender Clement Lenglet, who is set to move to Aston Villa.

Al-Nassr likely aren’t done strengthening in this window however there is one player they won’t be grabbing.

Despite previous links to sign French international Clement Lenglet, the defender is about to be off the market.

Fabrizio Romano has insisted that Lenglet is about to join Aston Villa on a loan in the Premier League.

This means Al-Nassr won’t be able to create the defensive duo they’ve been linked to wanting.

Aymeric Laporte has already arrived at the club, but he now won’t be joined by his former French countryman.

This will either make Laporte the only centre defender signed this summer, or force the Knights to look elsewhere.

Who should Al-Nassr target?

With the European window closing on Friday, time is running out, given the clubs will be less willing to sell.

However the target we would suggest, would likely see his club happy to let him go even following the window closing.

Eric Bailly from Manchester United has been linked with an Al-Nassr move previously this window.

However now could be the time to push ahead and get a deal done to strengthen our defence.

Bailly is said to be available for free, which makes it a no brainer, despite his presumably high wages.

Bailly would bring a wealth of international and club experience including multiple trophies and countless caps for Ivory Coast.

He would be a solid partner for Laporte and it is a partnership we are keen to see.
