Al-Nassr midfielder Seko Fofana has been reportedly linked with a return to European football in the January transfer window.
Fofana made the move to the Saudi Pro League last summer after completing a transfer from last season’s Ligue 1 runners-up FC Lens.
The Ivorian became an important part of Luis Castro’s lineup having made 16 games in all competitions scoring twice this season.
With the January transfer window approaching, it seems Fofana could be tempted to depart Al-Nassr with a number of clubs interested in the 28-year-old.
According to multiple Turkish outlets, Besiktas and Galatasaray have enquired about Fofana’s status and are keen on landing the midfielder in January.
Saudi reports also confirmed Al-Nassr’s intention to free up space in their quota for non-homegrown players to register a new goalkeeper.
Former Arsenal goalkeeper David Ospina was rumoured to depart in January but could now be restored to the first team at Fofana’s expense.
Fofana had signed a three-year contract with Al-Nassr and potential suitors would have to line up a transfer fee in the region of £25 million.
His rumoured exit would mean that Al-Nassr will have to rely on Saudi international Abdullah Al-Khaibari, who already has 11 starts in the new league campaign.
