Al-Nassr boss Luis Castro praised Sadio Mane and talked about his side’s performance after their win over Al-Shabab on Monday.

The Riyadh giants pulled off a huge win defeating Yannic Carrasco’s Al-Shabab 5-2 away from home in the King Cup quarter-finals.

Despite conceding twice, goals from Seko Fofana, Sadio Mane, Abdulrahman Ghareeb, Cristiano Ronaldo, and Mohamed Maran secured the victory and qualification for the semi-finals.

Mane’s strike was his 10th of the season in all competitions as the Senegalese seems to have rediscovered his form since leaving Bayern Munich in the summer.

“Cup games are usually tricky especially when you face a team like Al-Shabab,” Castro said in the post-match press conference. “We scored many goals today and I think it was a fair result.

“We want to challenge for all titles this season and we still have hope of winning the league but it’s also important to focus on cup competitions.

“Keeping up the levels of concentration throughout the game is vital because the more a player is focused, the better his performance is.

“You can see that with Sadio Mane, who is back to his full fitness. He trains a lot and he is now back to his best after recovery,” he added.

Al-Nassr will look to extend their winning run to three games when they take on Steven Gerrard’s Al-Ettifaq at home on Saturday evening.
