Sadio Mane expressed his delight to be at Al-Nassr and expects a tough clash against Al-Duhail in the AFC Champions League.
The Senegalese joined Al-Nassr in a £26 million move from Bayern Munich, signing a three-year contract at the Riyadh giants.
His career in Saudi Arabia got off to a good start as the 31-year-old instantly became an important part of Luis Castro’s lineup this season.
With six goals and two assists in 10 league games, Mane has rediscovered his old form and contributed to Al-Nassr’s title charge this year.
After finding his scoring boots domestically, the former Liverpool forward is still looking to net his first goal in the AFC Champions League.
He’ll be hoping to break the duck on Tuesday as Al-Nassr are set to face Philippe Coutinho’s Al-Duhail in the third round of the competition’s group stages.
“We are well prepared and we are ready to face Al-Duhail,” Mane said in the press conference. “We are just waiting for the kick-off and we will try to win the game.
“I am feeling good and very happy to be here. I am adapting well and I enjoy the training sessions here every day.
“The Saudi Pro League is difficult and there are major teams that play at the highest level,” he added.
Head coach Luis Castro also stressed the importance of the game, saying: “I am working on the ability and focus of my players so that in a short space of time, we’re able to prepare for a game that is as difficult as all that came before.”
