Al-Nassr head coach Luis Castro has hailed Cristiano Ronaldo’s leadership and believes he is a role model to the team.
Ronaldo was the hero for Al-Nassr on Saturday as he helped his side earn a 2-1 win against Damac in the Saudi Pro League’s 10th round.
Despite going behind early in the game, Anderson Talisca levelled the scoring after the break from a precise set-piece effort before Ronaldo scored the winning goal.
The Portuguese found the back of the net from a long-range free-kick to complete his side’s comeback and secure all three points.
His strike was his 11th of the campaign as his scoring form contributed to Al-Nassr’s title charge this season.
“He is the greatest example of global success in terms of hard work and discipline,” Castro told Marca. “An example for everyone.”
“Do you think he needs me to demand it? No. There is no need to demand from Cristiano, he already does it himself.
“He gives us rigour, discipline, maximum demands, always wanting to win, wanting to shine before the world.
“We want to win titles. If we play two, win two; If we play three, win three… it will never be different with him.
“We are talking about a player who has the most followers on social media, so every step Cristiano takes is followed by millions and millions of people and the media as well.
It gives me a lot to be the coach of a player who, despite his age, enjoys football, enjoys training, and enjoys playing with his teammates. He is a role model for his teammates,” he added.
