Al-Nassr head coach Luis Castro hailed Cristiano Ronaldo following their league victory over Al-Akhdoud on Friday.
Ronaldo inspired Al-Nassr to another important win in the Saudi Pro League as his side overcame Al-Akhdoud 3-0 to remain four points adrift of Al-Hilal.
The Portuguese’s goalscoring prowess was on display late in the game netting his first in the 77th minute before chipping the goalkeeper from long range to put the game to bed.
Luis Castro spoke after the game and praised the 38-year-old for his contributions but believes they still have a long way to go until the end of the season.
“It’s still early in the season,” Castro said in the press conference. “We dropped six points at the start, and then we were able to close the gap on Al-Hilal.
“We can’t just look ahead because we also need to be wary of other title challengers and there are still plenty of games left.
“Ronaldo? He is different. He is the best player in the world, and when you have him in your team, everything becomes easier for you as a coach,” he added.
Al-Nassr will host Iran’s Persepolis in the fifth round of the AFC Champions League group stages on Tuesday before their biggest game of the season.
The Yellows are set to face rivals Al-Hilal in the Saudi El Clasico next week and a potential win for them would see the gap at the top reduced to just a point.
