Inter Miami have announced they will take on Cristiano Ronaldo’s Al-Nassr as part of their pre-season friendlies in February next year.
The American outfit were initially rumoured to face Al-Nassr next month with Saudi authorities announcing the highly-anticipated friendly.
However, Miami then released a statement three weeks ago and denied claims of friendly in 2024 before deleting it just hours later.
The club have now apparently made a U-turn on their decision and are now set to meet Al-Nassr on February 1st following their latest announcement.
“Inter Miami will travel to Saudi Arabia during the 2024 pre-season to participate in the Riyadh Season Cup as part of the club’s first-ever international tour,” the club said in a statement.
“The team will play two matches in the country in a round-robin tournament format, taking on Saudi powerhouses Al-Hilal SFC and Al Nassr FC.”
“These matches will offer important tests for our team, which will benefit us as we approach the new season,” Miami sporting director Chris Henderson said.
“We’re excited for our group to get the chance to go up against teams with as much quality as Al-Hilal and Al Nassr.
It’s worth noting the last time Cristiano Ronaldo faced Lionel Messi was earlier this year when the latter was part of Paris Saint-Germain’s squad.
The French giants had prevailed with a narrow 5-4 victory in a game where both legends got on the scoresheet.
