Al-Nassr are reportedly ready to listen to offers for former Arsenal and Napoli shot-stopper David Ospina in the January transfer window.
Ospina had completed a move from Napoli to Al-Nassr on a free transfer back in the summer of 2022 but his time in the Middle East went under the radar.
The Colombian made 14 starts in all competitions for the club upon his arrival but a long-term injury has kept him sidelined since the end of last year.
Despite nearing a recovery, it seems Al-Nassr are keen on offloading Ospina in January before his contract runs out five months later.
According to multiple Saudi reports, Ospina could be set for a January exit as the club are desperate to get him off the wage bill.
The 35-year-old hasn’t been registered in Al-Nassr’s squad this season as the club already fulfilled their quota for non-homegrown players.
Saudi Pro League regulations state that each club is allowed to have up to eight foreign-based players in their squad but that limit could reportedly change in January.
Al-Nassr have signed Seko Fofana, Alex Telles, Marcelo Brozovic, and Sadio Mane from Bayern Munich in the summer for a total of £125 million.
The report also added that Ospina wants to stay in Saudi Arabia and play for the Riyadh giants after his recovery until the end of the season.
However, club officials have other plans in mind and could prioritise the signing of a central defender to play alongside Aymeric Laporte after finding an adequate replacement in goal.
Head coach Luis Castro has been relying on Saudi goalkeeper Nawaf Al-Aqidi between the sticks with the 23-year-old making eight appearances in the new campaign.
