Manchester City star Erling Haaland expressed his admiration for Cristiano Ronaldo and revealed one attribute he learned from the Portuguese.
Despite being regarded as one of the best strikers at the age of 23, Haaland remains keen on improving his game and has done so by observing Ronaldo’s career.
The Norwegian bagged 52 goals in all competitions last term and is on course to match that tally with 17 strikes so far this season.
With his goalscoring prowess often being compared to Cristiano Ronaldo, Haaland talked about the inspiration he got from watching the 38-year-old during his time at Manchester United.
“I remember always watching him [Ronaldo] on YouTube for his movements in the box,” Haaland told TV2.
“He used to make two or three moves before attacking the space he wanted to be in. It’s kind of a duel in that situation with the centre-backs.
“It is important to time it perfectly. And the post must be good. If you don’t get a good cross, you won’t be able to score with your head.
“How Cristiano moves, and how he has managed to develop his game. You remember when he played in Manchester United and the first years in Real Madrid, to become more of a striker in Real Madrid.
“It is incredible for him that he manages. But also how he scores the goals. It’s the small movements in the box, and being able to deceive the defenders,” he added.
