Cristiano Ronaldo has reportedly informed Al-Nassr of his plans moving forward with his contract with the Saudi Pro League side set to expire in 2025.
When Cristiano Ronaldo joined the Saudi side, he signed a two-and-a-half-year deal with the club but a seven-year deal overall.
The two years were for his playing career with the other five being a coaching career if he chose to go down that route when he retired.
However, the 38-year-old has reportedly made a decision about his future at the club and it is good news for Al-Nassr fans.
According to Saudi Arabian journalist Ali Al-Harb, Ronaldo has informed the Saudi club that he wants to remain in the Middle East until 2027 and wants to feature at the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
The 2026 tournament is due to be held in the United States of America, Mexico and Canada.
The Saudi journalist goes on to say that Ronaldo will retire after this, at the age of 41, bringing an end to his illustrious career in football.
Ronaldo to go out on a high
The Portuguese forward has had a stellar time since he decided that the Saudi Pro League is where he wants to be at the end of his career.
The Portuguese forward has scored 25 times for the Saudi side and registered a further 8 assists and it seems he is settling into life in the Middle East well.
The 38-year-old has been made captain of Al Nassr, with his side currently sitting third in the league behind Al Taawoun and Neymar’s Al Hilal.
The Portuguese forward has seemingly been responsible for the influx of some of Europe’s best players to the Middle East, so for Ronaldo to stay in the Pro League is a big boost for the country.
