Cristiano Ronaldo has earned another Saudi Pro League Player of the Month award for his contributions in September.
The Portuguese earned the accolade last month having played a huge part in Al-Nassr’s turnaround in form after a rough start to their season.
Despite losing their first two matches of the campaign, Al-Nassr established a six-game winning streak with Ronaldo inspiring the Riyadh giants to a sensational run of form.
His performances have helped Al-Nassr close in on league leaders Al-Hilal as they are now just two points away from the top spot after eight games played.
The former Manchester United forward started off the month with a sublime performance against newly-promoted Al-Hazm, scoring once and assisting twice in a comprehensive 5-1 victory.
Two weeks later, Ronaldo was on target again after the international break as Al-Nassr beat Al-Raed 3-1 in a tough away game.
The 38-year-old’s brace against Roberto Firmino’s Al-Ahli allowed Al-Nassr to claim a 4-3 derby win before his late penalty secured all three points from their encounter with Al-Tai last week.
A stellar month meant that Ronaldo is now the Saudi Pro League’s top scorer with 10 goals, four ahead of teammate Sadio Mane and Al-Hilal’s Aleksandar Mitrovic.
It’s worth noting that Ronaldo recently scored his first-ever AFC Champions League goal in Al-Nassr’s 3-1 triumph over Tjik outfit Istiklol.
Head coach Luis Castro also earned his plaudits and received the Manager of the Month award as his work didn’t go unnoticed.
Al-Nassr look to mount pressure on leaders Al-Hilal when they face Abha in their upcoming league game on Friday, October 6th.
