Al-Nassr captain Cristiano Ronaldo spoke about his year in Saudi Arabia after his side’s thumping win at Al-Taawoun.
The Yellows came back from behind to hit four past fourth-placed Al-Taawoun in the league’s 19th round on Saturday evening.
Ronaldo’s goal came in the 94th minute of the game after heading home from Seko Fofana’s cross to secure the victory in style.
His goal was his 54th in 2023 as he edged Bayern Munich’s Harry Kane and Kylian Mbappe of Paris Saint-Germain to become the world’s top scorer.
The 38-year-old reflected on his contributions to Al-Nassr during the year and expects more players to join the league in the near future.
“I am very happy. It was a good year for me both collectively and individually. I scored so many goals. I helped the team a lot at Al-Nassr and the [Portugal] national team,” Ronaldo told SSC Sports.
“It makes me proud. I feel proud and I will continue next year to try and do it again. The league is growing and players now want to come here because it is competitive.
“The whole world now watches the Roshn [Saudi] League so it is good. If big players want to come, they are always welcome.
“I have to say thank you to my teammates because without them, none of this would be possible, and my fans who follow me everywhere,” he added.
