Cristiano Ronaldo has revealed his plans to continue playing football after Al-Nassr’s league win over Damac on Saturday.
Al-Nassr managed to turn things around and earn a 2-1 comeback victory over Damac in the Saudi Pro League’s 10th round.
Despite going behind in the first half, quickfire free-kick goals from Anderson Talisca and Cristiano Ronaldo helped Al-Nassr secure all three points and close the gap on leaders Al-Hilal.
Having achieved a new milestone with Portugal in the international break, Ronaldo’s goal against Damac was his 11th of the campaign as he continues to impress at 38 years of age.
Speaking after the game, Ronaldo discussed his side’s win and disclosed that he is not planning to retire anytime soon.
“It was a very difficult game,” Ronaldo told SSC Sports. “We knew it would be tough after the international break because of travelling and the run of games.
“Damac are a very good team. We conceded a goal in the first half but in the second, we gave a good response, played well, scored two goals, and in my opinion, deserved to win.”
“Key to consistency? Dedication and hard work. As I said, I treat my body well and my body helps me to still play football and help my team at 38. I feel very happy but without my teammates, none of this would be possible.
“For sure, I will play this year and next year, and after that, if my body says ‘Cristiano, you can continue’, then I will continue to play.
“I say thank you to the Saudi people and the fans in the stadium. They make me happy and I make them happy too,” he added.
