Former Juventus and Bayern Munich winger Douglas Costa could reportedly be heading to the Saudi Pro League next season.
Costa has been plying his trade at Major League Soccer’s LA Galaxy since the summer of last year after completing a move from Juventus to the American side.
However, his spell in the United States ended prematurely after the club decided to part ways with the 33-year-old and announce his departure.
“We’d like to thank Douglas for his contributions to the LA Galaxy,” said head coach and sporting director Greg Vanney via the club’s website. “We wish him and his family the best in the next step of his career.”
Just hours after his MLS exit, Fabrizio Romano reported that a number of Saudi Pro League clubs have expressed their interest in acquiring Costa on a free transfer.
One of those clubs could be Al-Nassr, who may be looking to bolster their attack in the January transfer window despite making major signings in the summer.
The Riyadh giants have already signed Marcelo Brozovic, Seko Fofana, Aymeric Laporte, Alex Telles, Otavio, and Sadio Mane for £160 million.
Should a move materialise, Costa would reunite with former Juventus teammate Cristiano Ronaldo, who has had a stellar start in the new campaign.
Al-Nassr are currently third in the Saudi Pro League table after 10 games played with 22 points, just four behind rivals Al-Hilal.
