Al-Nassr left-back Alex Telles has reflected on his sensational strike and his side’s league victory against Al-Ettifaq.

The Riyadh giants came out on top against Al-Ettifaq earning a comprehensive 3-1 victory at home after a long break.

A frustrating first half for the hosts nearly ended goalless until Alex Telles decided to improvise to change the complexion of the game.

The Brazilian took a touch near the edge of the box and rifled a belter with his preferred left foot on the volley beyond Al-Ettifaq’s Paulo Victor to break the deadlock in style.

His strike allowed Al-Nassr to go into the break with a goal advantage as Marcelo Brozovic and Cristiano Ronaldo got on the scoresheet in the second half to put the game to bed.

“I am really happy with today’s victory,” Alex Telles told SSC Sports after the game. “We knew it was going to be a tough match against a good team.

“The first goal helped us a lot today and I am delighted with that. We still have important games ahead of the break so it’s important to stay ready.

“When you play for Al-Nassr, you are expected to deliver every game and we always try to work hard and do our best to meet that standard.

“We still have important games before the January break and we will fight until the end,” he added.
