Eric Bailly looks set to remain at Manchester United this summer as Al-Nassr are closing in on a different target.
According to Sky Sports, the United defender’s proposed move to the Saudi side is set to fall through and the defender could be about to remain in Manchester.
The Ivorian is now exploring other options as Al-Nassr close in on the signing of Aymeric Laporte from Manchester City.
Bailly may now move to Turkish side Besiktas with the giants exploring their options and the United defender may well be the perfect option for the Turkish outfit.
For Al-Nassr, they are closing in on Laporte after they agreed a fee, although the figures involved in the deal are currently unknown.
Who could Al-Nassr target now?
After they complete the impending signing of Laporte, Bailly was to be brought in and would have started alongside the Spanish defender.
Bailly, who was a very rash tackler at United and picked up recurring injuries throughout his time in Manchester, would have been an interesting option for the Saudi side.
Bailly requested €700,000 compensation from United but the Old Trafford side refused to pay the Ivorian out of his contract and the defender’s potential move has collapsed according to Yağız Sabuncuoğlu.
The question has become who could Al-Nassr target? An unrealistic, albeit fun option would be Sergio Ramos. The former Real Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain man is now a free agent so he could be a realistic option for the Saudi sides defence.
Maybe another United defender could be available, whether it’s Phil Jones and Axel Tuanzebe who are both free agents. These, too, could be good options for the Saudi giants although it remains to be seen if they make a move for any of these three defenders.
