Chelsea midfielder Hakim Ziyech has denied suggestions he is suffering from an injury, after failing a medical.
The Blues’ 30-year-old Moroccan is looking to depart Stamford Bridge this summer, and was closing in on a move.
He was due to move to Al-Nassr, however, pre-transfer medical tests put an end to his Saudi Pro League hopes.
It was reported last Friday by Metro that the Saudi club discovered knee and hip issues which has thrown the £8million move into doubt.
Due to the findings, the club have lowered their initial contract proposal. Ziyech is yet to agree to the lower wage however, according to the Metro, leaving the move in flux.
The move was all set to go through for £8m, a fee which would have significantly benefited the English side. Given Chelsea’s current FFP concerns which has triggered a clearing of house in London.
Ziyech denies injury issues
Ziyech has now reportedly indicated he would be willing to walk away from a potential deal. Clearly not happy with the situation he finds himself in, the ex-Ajax star posted on Instagram about the situation.
Ziyech put a picture on his story of his legs while sitting on a football pitch. He added with it the caption: ‘knee problems right??’ and added two laughing emojis.
He can be safe in the knowledge interest in his services is in high demand though. Roma are interested, but Jose Mourinho has yet to make a move.
The Chelsea star was supposed to head to PSG in January until Chelsea set the incorrect paperwork.
Ziyech might have a point in terms of his fitness too, having only missed one game in the last year and a half through injury, according to Transfermarkt.
Therefore it might be worth Al-Nassr taking a risk, it is high risk high reward. But if it works out well, it could be brilliant.
After all, at his best, Ziyech is an electrifying player and, while he hasn’t hit the heights recently, a change of scene could be exactly what he needs; especially given the influx of big names currently heading to the league.
