Al-Nassr are reportedly in talks over the signing of Thiago Alcantara from Liverpool in the January transfer window.

Thiago had joined Liverpool in the summer of 2020 after a treble-winning campaign with record German champions Bayern Munich.

The Spaniard’s Liverpool career, however, never reached its expected potential due to multiple injuries that kept him on the sidelines for long spells.

Additionally, he is also yet to make an appearance in the new campaign for Jurgen Klopp as the midfielder is still recovering from a hip injury.

With his deal at Anfield expiring in the summer of 2024, the 32-year-old could be set for a new destination next year.

According to a report by El Nacional, Cristiano Ronaldo’s Al-Nassr have emerged as potential suitors for Thiago with the Saudi club keen on strengthening their midfield.

Despite signing Marcelo Brozovic, Seko Fofana, and Otavio in the summer, Al-Nassr are reportedly keen on making more additions in the middle of the park.

The report also added that Liverpool could be willing to let go of Thiago in January to generate a transfer fee instead of losing him for free just six months later.

Should a move materialise, Thiago would reunite with former Reds teammate Sadio Mane after spending two years together in Merseyside.

Al-Nassr are currently challenging for the Saudi Pro League title after a strong start to the new campaign under Luis Castro.

The Riyadh giants trail leaders Al-Hilal by just four points in third after nine games played so far and look to close the gap after the international break.
