Al-Nassr are reportedly planning to sign Al-Shabab fullback Moteb Al-Harbi and could offer Seko Fofana in a potential swap deal.
Recent reports confirmed interest from Turkish giants Besiktas and Galatasaray over a loan deal for Al-Nassr’s star midfielder Seko Fofana.
The Ivorian only joined the Yellows last summer for £25 million signing a three-year contract but could now be set for a move to their local rivals.
According to Arriyadiyah’s report, Al-Nassr have submitted a bid of £8.4 million in addition to a six-month loan contract for Fofana to acquire Saudi left-back Moteb Al-Harbi from Al-Shabab.
This is Al-Nassr’s second attempt to sign the defender after initially having a substantially higher offer rejected last week.
Should a transfer materialise, Fofana would still be on Al-Nassr’s payroll as they will continue to pay his wages until the end of the season.
Al-Nassr lining up more signings
With the Saudi Pro League coming to a halt due to the Asian Cup as well as the Africa Cup of Nations, Al-Nassr can now turn their attention to the transfer market.
The Saudi Pro League regulations allow each club to have up to eight non-homegrown players and Al-Nassr may want to free up space in their quota.
The Middle Eastern outfit had signed Alex Telles, Marcelo Brozovic, Sadio Mane, Aymeric Laporte, and Otavio last summer to bolster the squad led by Anderson Talisca and Cristiano Ronaldo.
Fofana’s potential departure could indicate that the club are planning to bring in another big signing this month to help them compete in the league and cup competitions this season.
