Al-Nassr are reportedly interested in signing Sporting CP and England winger Marcus Edwards on a permanent deal this summer.
Just days after triggering the £51 million release clause for Porto and Portugal forward Otavio, Al-Nassr seem to be willing to make another major signing before the transfer window deadline.
Multiple Portuguese outlets have confirmed that Al-Nassr are willing to make another attacking signing in Sporting CP’s Marcus Edwards as Anderson Talisca’s departure edges closer.
Recent reports have also confirmed that Talisca’s time in Saudi Arabia could be coming to an end as Al-Nassr look to find a more versatile and efficient alternative.
Marcus Edwards has been at Sporting since January of 2022 and has represented a number of clubs including Tottenham Hotspur and Norwich City.
The 24-year-old operates on the right-hand side and has the ability to play a central attacking role supporting the frontline.
Should Al-Nassr attempt to sign the Englishman, the Saudi side would have to submit an offer of no less than £50 million to activate his release clause, according to A Bola.
Following Otavio’s arrival, Al-Nassr have now spent a whopping £125 million on summer transfers after acquiring Seko Fofana, Alex Telles, Marcelo Brozovic, and Sadio Mane from Bayern Munich.
Despite that, the Riyadh-based side have had a disappointing start to their season after losing their opening two games in the Saudi Pro League.
In addition, they were on the brink of AFC Champions League elimination on Wednesday but a late 4-2 comeback victory over Shabab Al-Ahli ensured Al-Nassr a spot in the competition’s group stages.
