Al-Nassr head coach Luis Castro hailed his side after earning another important win in the Saudi Pro League over Al-Wehda.

Despite going into the game without Aymeric Laporte and Abdullah Al-Khaibari due to injury, Al-Nassr prevailed at Al-Wehda 3-1 on Saturday evening.

Alex Telles gave Al-Nassr the early lead from a stunning free-kick before Abdelelah Al-Amri and Cristiano Ronaldo added goals to secure a comfortable win.

The victory meant that the Riyadh outfit are now four points adrift of rivals Al-Hilal at the top heading into the November international break.

Speaking after the game, Luis Castro praised his side’s performance and discussed the qualities that made Al-Nassr efficient this season.

“It was an incredible game and a truly fantastic performance from the players,” Castro said in the press conference. “I am delighted with how they played tonight.

“Football is not just about scoring and creating goals, but technically, players must also be strong and smart from a tactical point of view.

“Luckily, I have versatile players who play in more than one position because they are experienced and can read the game well.

“We always want to win. In the last 17 games, we won 16 of them and drew one. We have an organised team that can move the ball well while also having the needed awareness to avoid counter-attacks,” he added.
