Al-Nassr left-back Alex Telles has been reportedly ruled out of their clash against Al-Shabab in the King’s Cup quarter-finals on Monday.
Telles has been out of action since Al-Nassr’s 3-0 defeat to rivals Al-Hilal two weeks ago as the Brazilian had to leave the pitch after 37 minutes.
The 30-year-old then went on to miss games against Istiklol during the week and Al-Riyadh in the Saudi Pro League on Friday.
Despite rumours of a potential return in the King’s Cup, Al-Nassr will now have to do without Telles as they travel to face Al-Shabab on Monday.
According to a report by Arriyadiyah, the fullback will not make the trip as head coach Luis Castro will now rely on alternatives for the third consecutive game.
Who will replace Telles?
Saudi Arabia’s Ayman Yahya has shown signs of promise at left-back this season as the former winger already has four assists in 14 games across all competitions.
His most notable contribution for Al-Nassr came in the AFC Champions League qualifying stages, where his late introduction helped the Riyadh giants complete a remarkable comeback to beat Emirati outfit Shabab Al-Ahli and secure a spot in the group stages.
Another option could be Mohammed Qassem who started in Al-Nassr’s recent 1-1 draw with Istiklol and remained on the pitch for 85 minutes.
