Al-Nassr and other rival clubs have been handed a huge boost in their race to sign Real Madrid midfielder Luka Modric.
Modric has been linked with a move to the Saudi Pro League since the summer with Al-Hilal and Al-Nassr reportedly keen on acquiring the Croatian.
With only eight starts in La Liga this season, Modric has lost his place in the lineup after competing with the likes of Eduardo Camavinga, Aurelien Tchouaméni, Federico Valverde, Toni Kroos, and Jude Bellingham.
It seems that Al-Nassr could now capitalise and make another attempt to sign the 38-year-old with the January transfer window edging closer.
According to a report by Diario Sport, Real Madrid have decided to not extend Modric’s current deal as he is set to leave the club in the summer.
However, an early exit also remains a possibility with the player’s agent recently confirming interest from the Saudi Pro League.
“Saudi clubs? This summer there was interest in Modric with the aim of signing him. The player has several offers, from a club from the capital and another club,” Couce told Shoot.
“Modric is currently thinking about Real Madrid, but the idea of him moving to the Saudi Pro League is possible if the offer is suitable.
