Cristiano Ronaldo returned from international duty and celebrated his new milestone for Portugal with his Al-Nassr teammates.

The former Manchester United forward is in red-hot form for club and country this season and his qualities were on display with Portugal last week.

After scoring back-to-back doubles against Slovakia and Bosnia, Ronaldo raised his international tally to 127 goals to set a new world record.

The 38-year-old also topped the charts for the highest goalscorers in 2023 after reaching 40 goals in total, just one higher than Manchester City’s Erling Haaland.

After returning to Riyadh on Thursday, Ronaldo’s teammates at Al-Nassr made a special surprise to celebrate the forward’s new record.

The Saudi club posted a video on social media of the players carrying a large cake to the training ground with a design that highlighted Ronaldo’s individual stats this year.

“Thank you, team,” Ronaldo said in response to Al-Nassr’s video package on X, formerly known as Twitter.

Ronaldo will hope to continue his scoring run for Al-Nassr as they are set to resume their title charge in the Saudi Pro League after a stellar start to the new campaign.

Luis Castro’s men are currently on a seven-game unbeaten run and sit third in the league table with 19 points and four behind the top spot after the opening nine games.

They are set to host Damac in the league’s 10th round on Saturday, October 21st as they look to close the gap on leaders Al-Hilal.
