Al-Nassr forward Anderson Talisca has not been called up to the Brazil squad despite his performances in Saudi Arabia this season.
The 29-year-old has been in sensational form this season for Al-Nassr netting 17 goals and providing two assists in 13 games across all competitions.
He recently scored a hat-trick to earn his side a 3-2 victory over Philipe Coutinho’s Al-Duhail in the AFC Champions League to secure qualification for the knockout stages.
Despite his contributions, Talisca was still unable to enter Fernando Diniz’s Brazil squad for the November international break.
“Talisca not being called up to the Brazilian national team is a technical decision and has nothing to do with his presence in the Saudi Pro League, and he may be called up in the future,” said Brazil spokesman Rodrigo Pavia.
Talisca’s last call-up for Brazil came in March of 2018 where he remained on the bench in their 3-0 win against Russia in a friendly match.
Meanwhile, teenage sensation Endrick received his first Brazil call-up as the Real Madrid-bound forward has been impressing for Palmeiras.
It’s worth noting that Talisca’s Al-Nassr teammates have received call-ups to their respective national teams including Marcelo Brozovic, Otavio, and Cristiano Ronaldo.
Al-Nassr have one final game to play before the international break as they face Al-Wehda on Saturday, November 11th.
